We’re proud to continue our sponsorship of the Royal Forestry Society’s Women in Forestry events, with the second gathering of 2025 taking place this September. These events are designed to celebrate the talent and experiences of women working in or interested in forestry, while offering opportunities to connect, share stories, and support one another across the sector.
Following the sold-out success of April’s event at Voltaire’s Wood, the next Women in Forestry event promises another inspiring day in the woods – this time at a new woodland venue, soon to be announced.
Why it matters
Forestry in the UK is evolving. As the sector works to address climate change, biodiversity loss, and the need for more sustainable land management, it’s becoming increasingly important to foster a workforce that is as diverse and multi-skilled as the challenges we face.
Long seen as a male-dominated industry, forestry is seeing more women step into roles that shape its future – from woodland management and silviculture to conservation, research, and policy. These events help amplify those voices and offer a welcoming space for women at all stages of their careers to learn, share, and grow together.
What to expect
This September’s event, hosted as part of the RFS Early Career Forester Network and supported by PEFC UK, will offer:
- Opportunities to connect with peers and industry professionals
- Honest, supportive discussions about working in forestry
- Career insights from women with lived experience
- A chance to explore pathways into the sector – whether practical, academic, or non-traditional
- Time spent outdoors in a beautiful woodland setting
