PEFC Chain of Custody certification is recognised in LEED v5, released by the U.S. Green Building Council in April 2025, enabling PEFC-certified wood and paper products to contribute to LEED credits across Building Design and Construction (BD+C), Interior Design and Construction (ID+C), and Operations and Maintenance (O+M). Under LEED v5’s new Multi-Attribute Scoring system, PEFC-certified non-structural and structural timber products, as well as PEFC-certified paper, can support credits including MR Credit 4 and relevant pilot credits, helping project teams demonstrate responsible sourcing, ecosystem protection and verified traceability through certified sustainable forest management and Chain of Custody
